Classes fill quickly and have limited enrollment, so please register early.

Beginning Knit – As EASY as 1-2-3  (2 hour session, $25 each or $60 for all three)

Beginning Knit 1: Perfect for those who have never knit before – learn how to cast on, knit, do garter stitch, read yarn labels and choosing needles. No experience required!

Beginning Knit 3: Start your first project in Basketweave stitch, learn how to measure gauge, as well as the basics of reading patterns, charts, and your fabric. Must have taken Beginning Knit 1 and 2 or know how to cast on, and knit and purl.

Discover the essence of continental knitting as many find it faster than the American version as it minimizes motions and increases speed. Knit, purl, increasing and decreasing will be covered.

Toe-Up Baby Socks (2.5 hour session, $45

Learn the magic loop method while making a pair of adorable baby socks from the toe up. Socks will be knitted using one long circular needle, knitting both at the same time. Strong knitting skills and sock knitting a plus.

Beaded Lace Scarf/Shawl-Swallow Hill Creations (4 hours, $60) (Class is included with purchase of shawl kit)

Join Shirley, owner of Swallow Hill, and learn how to create this stunning beaded scarf or shawl. Beads need to be pre-strung and stitches need to
be casted on prior to class. Bead spinner available for use prior to class. Strong knitting skills essential. 8 patterns, yarn and beads are included.

Knitting Essentials (3 hours, $50)
Instructor: Peggy

Expand your repertoire of knitting skills with this comprehensive course designed to take any knitter from start to finish on any project! Course is suited for all skill levels but must know how to knit, purl, measure gauge, and read fabric. Homework is required for each module. Contact instructor with any questions.

Module A: Mastering gauge, Fit adjustments, five common cast-on methods, selvedge stitches, reading patterns and stitch repeats, personal measurements taken as desired.

Module B: Fully fashioned shaping with increases and decreases, working with circular and don’s, fixing mistakes, use of lifelines and markers.

Private Lessons ($12.50 per half hour, $25.00 per hour)

Choose what you want to learn or get help with a problem in a one-on-one private session at the time that suits you best. Our private instructors have a great range of skills to assist you. Check with the front desk to schedule.

 

CLASS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

  • Materials list and required homework are available at the front desk and must be completed prior to the first class session unless otherwise indicated.
  • Registrations may be made in person, by phone or fax with a credit card, or by mail.
  • Space in the class is guaranteed only upon receipt of full payment.
  • Full payment is due at least 3 days prior to start of first class.
  • Walk-in’s are welcome on a space available basis.
  • Registered students are entitled to a 15% discount on regularly priced yarn.
    Please pickup your 15% coupon with the materials and homework card provided at the time of registration.
  • Class registrations are transferable and non-refundable.
  • In the event a class is cancelled, students will receive a full refund.
  • Keep in mind our instructors order supplies and prepare for classes based on advance registrations.
  • Schedule is subject to change without notice.

Knitter’s Basic Bag of Tools

(All students must bring these items to class)

  • Small Scissors
  • Tape Measure
  • Gauge Measuring Tool (Knit-Chek)
  • Stitch markers (jump rings and safety pin type)
  • Med Size Crochet Hook (E, F, G)
  • Paper or notebook
  • Post-it notes and/or index cards
  • Pencil and eraser
  • Tapestry yarn needle (large eye with blunt end like Chibi needles)
